PTI's Tsunami (The Nation - October 05, 2012)
PTI has been criticised for accommodating some rather dubious individuals. Imran Khan clarified that what matters is the end objective and the vision; the leader at the helm of affairs would set the pattern. Since the masses, by and large, have trust in IK’s own personality, his stance is pretty much understandable.
One might sense the prevalence of Machiavellianism over here; though it is not a favorable trait, yet it is believed that when we run out of options, ends do justify means. When the situation has become so worse that one can’t achieve noble objectives without having electable’s on one’s side, one is justified in pursuing the path of Machiavellianism. We must also remember that if the leader is visionary and candid, he will most probably act as a role-model by following the top-down approach.
